Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions – Terms & Conditions for 1-to-1 Tuition

(Effective from: 30.11.2025)

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions (“the Tutor”) and the parent/guardian or adult learner (“the Client”) regarding the provision of 1-to-1 tuition.
By booking lessons and making payments, the Client accepts all terms listed below.

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions operates in accordance with UK consumer law, safeguarding legislation, GDPR, health and safety regulations, and good tutoring practices.

2. Tuition Approach & Learning Resources

2.1 Tuition Delivery

The Tutor will:

  • Address misconceptions and support understanding.

  • Help close knowledge gaps.

  • Build the student’s confidence and skills.

  • Tailor instruction to the learner’s needs and development.

2.2 Materials Provided Free of Charge

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions provides:

  • Printed materials and practice exercises,

  • Online learning/testing platform access,

  • Stationery, graph/isometric/tracing paper.

2.3 Loaned Resources

Where appropriate, the Tutor may loan:

  • Textbooks, revision guides, exercise books,

  • Educational games,

  • Equipment such as calculators or geometry sets.

Loaned materials must be returned in good condition.

3. Fees (Investments)

3.1 Standard Rates

  • KS3: from £35 per hour

  • GCSE, Functional Skills, Re-sits: from £40 per hour

3.2 Extended Sessions

(For regular customers)

  • +30 minutes: £10

  • +60 minutes: £20
    Discount applies only if additional time is added to the same session.

3.3 Discounts

  • Discounts may be offered individually.

  • Family discounts apply to all siblings, not necessarily attending together.

  • Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions reserves the right to modify or withdraw discounts.

4. Payments

  • All payments must be made upfront, either termly or in blocks of 5 sessions, to secure a recurring time slot.

  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, PayPal, Klarna, cash.

  • Unpaid sessions cannot be carried over or reserved.

  • Failure to make payments may result in termination of tuition.

5. Attendance, Absences & Cancellations

5.1 Unarranged Absence (e.g., sickness)

  • 12+ hours notice: session is rearranged.

  • Less than 12 hours notice: full session fee applies.

5.2 Planned Absence (e.g., holiday)

  • 7+ days notice: session is rearranged.

  • Less than 7 days notice: full session fee applies.

5.3 Tutor Absence

If the Tutor is unwell, the session will be rearranged at no cost to the Client.

5.4 Tutor Holidays & Bank Holidays

No sessions run on bank holidays or Tutor breaks unless otherwise agreed.

6. Recording of Lessons

All tutoring sessions provided by Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions are audio and video recorded.
Recordings are used solely for safeguarding, safety, quality assurance, and resolving any disputes.

Recordings are:

  • securely stored,

  • accessible only to the tutor,

  • kept for a maximum of 30 days,

  • never shared with third parties,

  • never used for marketing or promotional purposes.

By booking lessons, the parent/guardian confirms acceptance of this recording policy.

7. Safeguarding & Student Welfare

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions is committed to the welfare and safety of all learners.

7.1 Safeguarding Commitment

We safeguard all students equally, regardless of:
age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation.

7.2 Documentation Available on Request

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Public Liability Insurance

  • Teacher Qualification Number (TQN)

7.3 Reporting Concerns

Parents/students may contact the Tutor directly with any safeguarding concerns.
External support: NSPCC Helpline, Childline.

8. Mobile Phones Policy

8.1 Students

  • Phone use during tuition is discouraged.

  • Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions accepts no responsibility for lost/damaged devices.

  • Students must not take photographs or videos during lessons.

  • Images of learning work may be taken only on the Tutor’s device upon request.

8.2 Parents & Visitors

  • No phone use during drop-off or pick-up.

  • Photography or recording is strictly prohibited.

9. Health & Safety Policy

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions complies with:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974,

  • Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992,

  • RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013).

9.1 RIDDOR Note

The Tutor will report any injury, accident or dangerous occurrence that meets RIDDOR reporting thresholds to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Parents will be informed should such reporting be necessary.

9.2 Tutor Responsibilities

The Tutor will:

  • Maintain a safe teaching environment,

  • Report incidents/hazards,

  • Complete appropriate training.

10. Equalities Policy

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions is committed to inclusivity and equality under the Equality Act 2010.

We:

  • Respect all cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds,

  • Do not discriminate based on disability, gender, race, sexual orientation, family status or health,

  • Provide inclusive resources and approaches,

  • Ensure equal access for all families.

11. Missing Child Procedure

(Only relevant to in-person sessions)

In the rare event a student cannot be located:

  1. Immediate search of tuition area.

  2. Wider search of premises.

  3. If not found within 10 minutes, the police are contacted.

  4. Parents/carers are notified.

  5. Incident is logged and reviewed.

12. Data Protection & GDPR

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions complies with UK GDPR.
Personal data is used only for tuition, administration, and safeguarding.
Data is never shared unless legally required.

Clients may request access to their stored data.

13. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Ensure punctual attendance and preparation,

  • Notify the Tutor of any learning needs or health issues,

  • Follow payment and cancellation policies,

  • Maintain respectful communication.

14. Termination of Agreement

Either party may terminate tuition with 14 days notice, provided all fees are paid.

Immediate termination may occur if:

  • safeguarding concerns arise,

  • payments are repeatedly missed,

  • there is inappropriate behaviour,

  • policies are breached.

5. Policy Updates

Edu Plus Workshops and Tuitions may update these Terms & Conditions when required.
Clients will be notified of any changes.
